Duran Lantink is one of the most exciting designer in contemporary fashion. Born in the Netherlands, he studied at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie before gaining attention for his upcycling practices. His early collections were composed of dissected luxury pieces, transforming deadstock and pre-owned garments into entirely new designs.
He first gained international recognition after working on Janelle Monáe’s iconic PYNK pants, catapulting him into the spotlight. Lantink challenges fashion’s wasteful cycles, emphasizing sustainability without sacrificing bold, conceptual design. His work is often described as a mix of surrealism and functionality, where clothing is both statement and protest.
FW25 Collection
This season, the Dutch designer explored themes of transformation and rebellion, juxtaposing animal prints, military camouflage, and sculptural silhouettes that blurred the line between fashion and art. From deconstructed outerwear to body-modifying silicone accessories, every look was designed to disrupt and intrigue.
One of the standout moments from the show was a model striding down the runway in a hybrid trench coat—one side structured and tailored, the other deconstructed and fraying at the edges. It symbolized Lantink’s ongoing dialogue between past and future, between traditional craftsmanship and raw experimentation.
Another show-stopping piece was a corset molded from repurposed sneakers, drawing gasps from the audience. The concept? Breathing new life into forgotten objects, reshaping them into unexpected forms. “Fashion should never stand still,” Lantink has said, and his FW25 collection embodied that philosophy entirely.
