Why You Should Watch The Gorge (Despite the Predictable Plot)

I found myself stuck on a Saturday night, scrolling through streaming options with no idea what to watch. That's when I decided to give The Gorge a shot, and honestly, I'm glad I did. Released on March 22, 2025, The Gorge may not have the most unique plot, but Miles Teller and Florence Pugh bring something special to the screen that makes it worth watching. Their chemistry is strong and believable, and it's what makes the film stand out despite a familiar story.

The movie follows Caleb (Teller), a former soldier turned mercenary, who meets Lena (Pugh), a woman hiding from her past. As they get pulled into a dangerous situation together, their relationship grows, and the emotional connection between them becomes the driving force of the film. While the plot itself isn't groundbreaking, it's their dynamic that keeps the movie from feeling flat.

Miles Teller Shows a New Side: Known for roles in Divergent and Top Gun, Teller proves here that he can handle more complex, grounded characters. He brings a real, no-nonsense quality to Caleb, making him feel authentic rather than just a typical action hero.

Florence Pugh is a Standout: Pugh continues to show why she's one of the best in the business. She plays Lena with depth and complexity, showing the strength in her character without overplaying it.

While The Gorge doesn't reinvent the wheel, the performances from Teller and Pugh are worth the watch. So even if you're still unsure, give it a shot. You can stream The Gorge on Apple TV+. Trust me, the connection between Teller and Pugh is worth it.
